yes, that'd be simple, wouldn't it!? but the problem is that ... one must read a card in the box and one is coming from a plugin.... so... osc@m, with reader must be on always ... but when i select the cam from the plugin obviously the osc@m goes off

I appreciate your response, but the cameras must be active at all times, not just when you zap. The device has two tuners, one for cable and one for satellite, so I need them to be active constantly.

Here’s how to make the CAM stay active all the time:

---

✔ 1. Make sure the CAM runs as a persistent service

On Enigma2 (VU+, Dreambox, Octagon, etc.):

Menu → Plugins → Softcam / Softcam Setup
– Select your CAM (OSCam / CCcam)
– Press Green = Start
– Press Yellow = Autostart = ON

This makes the CAM always active, even without watching TV.

---

✔ 2. Disable “Restart CAM on channel change”

Some images (OpenATV, OpenPLI, VTi) have an option:

Menu → Setup → Usage & GUI → Channel selection → Restart CAM on zap
→ Set to: OFF

If this is ON, the CAM only works when you zap.

---

✔ 3. Check OSCam configuration

In OSCam web interface:

Go to
Configuration → Global

Make sure:

restart_after_crash = 1
disablelog = 0
preferlocalcards = 1

And most importantly:

keepalive = 1

This prevents OSCam from going idle.

---

✔ 4. Dual tuner setup (important!)

For both tuners to stay active:

Menu → Setup → Service Searching → Tuner Configuration
– Configure Tuner A = Satellite
– Configure Tuner B = Cable
→ Make sure both are Enabled and Connected.

If one tuner is idle, some images stop the CAM for that tuner.

---

✔ 5. If using CCcam → Switch to OSCam

CCcam often sleeps when not zapping.

OSCam stays active 24/7 → best for dual tuner setups.
