Why many people are selling used Icone Pro boxes now:

Market shifted toward newer Android/Linux combo receivers.
Some users feel Orka stability is weaker than before on certain satellites/channels.
“Lifetime server” products always carry risk because server quality depends on the company continuing support.
Older hardware becomes less attractive when no major firmware updates arrive.
Some sellers are upgrading to stronger Enigma2/Linux boxes like Vu+, Octagon, Dreambox, etc.

That does NOT automatically mean the server will stop tomorrow. Usually these things decline gradually:

fewer updates
slower fixes
some packages stop opening
instability/freezes
eventually support dies

Community discussions are already questioning whether support is slowing down.

About buying a used Icone Pro now:

It depends on your expectations.

Good decision IF:

price is very cheap
you only want temporary use
you already know satellite/server limitations
you accept possible future server shutdown
hardware condition is excellent

Not a good decision IF:

you want long-term reliability (3–5 years)
you expect guaranteed updates
you are paying high price
you want strong future support ecosystem

Since you already mentioned having a Vu+ Zero 4K in the earlier discussions, honestly that platform is safer long-term because Linux/Enigma2 boxes continue working even if one server disappears. You can change softcams, plugins, lines, IPTV integration, etc. Proprietary “lifetime server” receivers become weak once official support slows.

My realistic advice:

If used Icone Pro price is extremely low → okay as secondary/testing box.
If seller asking premium/high price → avoid.
For long-term investment → better buy active Linux-based 4K receiver with strong community support.

Also remember:
When many sellers suddenly dump the same receiver model in market at cheap prices, it usually means confidence in future support is decreasing — even if no official shutdown announcement exists yet.
