Good question. There could be a few reasons why your Star Track 2020 receiver is “missing some TP” (transponders) when doing a blind scan. Here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps + things to check. (If you tell me exactly which satellite / TP you think are missing, I can give more specific help.)

---

Possible Causes & Troubleshooting

1. Signal Strength / Dish Alignment

If your dish is misaligned (or there's an obstruction), some transponders may not be received well, so the receiver can't lock them.

Check your signal strength / quality for the satellite — make sure it's strong enough.

Readjust the dish or LNB if needed.

2. LNB / Hardware Limitations

The LNB type matters: if the LNB doesn’t support the full frequency range of certain TPs, some might not appear.

A weak or faulty LNB can miss certain frequencies.

Sometimes cabling (coax) problems (bad cable, loose connectors) can drop weaker signals.

3. Receiver Software / Firmware Issue

Your Star Track receiver might need a newer or more appropriate firmware / “rescue image.” For example, for the Startrack 2020 HD Plus, there are rescue images discussed.

After updating the software, try doing the blind scan again.

4. Blind Scan Settings

Make sure you're doing a full blind scan, not a limited scan. Blind scan should sweep the entire frequency range.

On some receivers, there's a “detailed” blind scan vs a “normal” one — detailed may pick up more TPs.

Check your scan parameters: frequency start/stop, polarity (H/V), symbol rate range. If set too narrowly, you might miss TPs. (This is common in many receiver manuals.)

After scan, save the found TPs/channels properly. If you exit without saving, the new ones may be lost.

5. TP List / Satellite List Incomplete

Some users report that the satellite list in their receiver is incomplete, meaning some satellites / TPs aren’t even known to the box.

You could try manually adding missing TPs (if you know their frequency, polarity, symbol rate) and then do a “single TP scan” on them.

6. Receiver Limitations or Bug

There could be a bug in the receiver’s blind scan implementation that prevents detection of some TPs.

In older or less expensive receivers, blind scan might not be as robust / flexible as on premium models.

What to Do Next (My Recommendations)

1. Update Firmware: Check if there’s a newer software / rescue image for your Star Track 2020. Use a USB, load it, then restart.

2. Do a Full Blind Scan:

Go to your installation / scan menu → choose blind scan.

Set the frequency range wide (cover full LNB input range).

Select “all polarities” (if possible).

Run the scan, wait for it to finish, then save.

3. Manual TP Addition: If you know the frequencies of the missing TPs, add them manually under “Add Transponder / TP” and then scan them individually.

4. Check LNB / Dish Setup: Make sure dish is well aligned, cables are solid, and LNB is good.

5. Reset Receiver (Optional): As a last resort, you could factory reset the receiver, delete old TP lists / channels, and start scanning fresh.
