enQ has launched the BR9708, a specially designed 4K projector designed for theme parks, thrill rides, adventure rooms and other themed environments that require accurate color reproduction and high contrast.

The BR9708 is designed for use in low-light environments. It offers true 4K UHD resolution with 8.3 million pixels, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and a 1200:1 contrast ratio. This allows the projector to reproduce realistic skin tones, detailed textures and deeper blacks without the use of filters or complex calibration. It is designed to replace the old lamp and low-contrast projectors that are still common in attraction systems, simulators and projection maps.

BenQ has tuned the projector for accuracy with a seven-point factory color calibration with a Delta E below 2. This helps multiple devices coordinate with each other when used in mixed projection configurations. The BR9708 also includes a Mix Ready feature that automatically adjusts color, gamma, and alignment for multi-projector setups.

The projector offers flexible placement options. It supports 50 percent vertical lens shift, 35 percent horizontal lens shift, center optics, and full 360-degree mounting. These options make it easy to install the BR9708 in tight spaces or unusual mounting locations often found in themed interiors.

The BenQ BR9708 Laser Projector is now available through BenQ authorized AV integration partners. In the UK, the projector is priced at £4,659, and in the EU it is available for €6,499.

Canadian communications technology company TELUS has expanded the availability of its aggregated service TELUS TV+, launching it on Samsung and LG smart TVs.

This timeline, which is part of the company’s “bring your own device” (BYOD) strategy, is expected to launch on Amazon Fire TV devices in 2025 with the support of German technology partner 3 Screen Solutions (3SS).

TELUS TV+ combines live TV, premium streaming services and cost-free streaming channels with advertising in a single interface. Its premium Stream+ integrates Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+, and over 50 FAST channels are part of its partnership with Amagi. TELUS currently provides linear and streaming services to 1.3 million households.

All recently launched programs for smart TVs run on the 3Ready platform under 3SS, which has been developed to ensure the best experience on all devices and make it easier to find content. Previously, TELUS worked with 3SS to launch its Android TV Operator Tier set-top boxes, which included integrated Netflix viewing from the head screen.

“Our launch on Fire TV, Samsung and LG smart TVs demonstrates the continued scalability of the 3Ready platform. With TELUS TV+, we are setting a new standard for super-aggregated services, and 3SS is losing a key partner in our ongoing BYOD strategy,” said Tim Fell, vice president of edge technologies and DevOps services at TELUS.

Kai-Christian Borchers, Managing Director of 3SS, added: “TELUS is one of the most innovative telecommunications operators in the world. As a result of its commitment to providing more options and services, TELUS continues to promote the addition of a TV platform that helps protect against cable TV connections. We write that we are supporting the expansion of TELUS TV+ with 3Ready to more devices and will help ensure a seamless viewing experience for TELUS customers.”
