Japanese authorities have urged users of iPhone 14 phones and some Apple smartwatches to be cautious about the collision detection feature.
who unnecessarily called the emergency services.

Both iPhone 14 phones and recent versions of the Apple Watch can help connect the user to emergency services if a serious car crash is detected.

And since the function automatically calls the emergency services just because the user moves violently, similar to accidents.
The feature's false alarms in recent weeks have caused problems for fire services near ski areas.
You are experiencing an increase in emergency calls made from devices.

The Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper reported on Sunday that between December 16, 2022 and January 23, 2023,
about 919 emergency calls were made to the fire department at the Kita Alps Nagano Ski Area,
but 134 of these were false alarms, most of which resulted in About collision detection capability.

The Jeju City Fire Department in Gifu Province also received 351 emergency calls between January 1 and January 23.
but 135 of the calls were also false alarms.

Although users can disable the feature, a firefighter said the feature's effectiveness in cases where a serious accident has already occurred
it prevents them from asking users to turn it off. But agency officials are demanding from the public.
Notify your local fire department if the iPhone makes a fake emergency call.

It's worth noting that the collision detection feature's false alarms weren't just limited to skating. Last October,
is said to have called emergency services in the United States simply because a user was moving too fast while riding a roller coaster
