Gil was loaned to Sevilla last season, while Bounou would be the replacement for Hugo Lloris who wants a fresh challenge. The proposal is understood to have been rejected, with Sevilla favouring an outright sale of Bounou.

Liverpool have struck a verbal agreement on personal terms with Nice midfielder, Khephren Thuram. The Frenchman is valued at £55m, though a discount can be had if the fee is paid up front and in full.
